1938 – 2016
FARMINGTON — Gloria Foster Hall, 78, of East Dixfield died Tuesday morning, Dec. 13, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1938, in Jay, a daughter of Kenneth A. and Virlie (Ranger) Foster. She was a 1957 graduate of Wilton Academy and for many years was employed at Red-E-Mix Inc. as a bookkeeper and dispatcher until July 1961. She was one of the original owners of the Dutch Treat in Wilton from 1963 to 1983.
On Feb. 7, 1986, she married Charles Richard “Dick” Hall, at the Wilton Congregational Church, where she was a member.
She enjoyed working in the pulling rings doing books at Blue Hill Fair, Fryeburg Fair and the Franklin County Agricultural Society. She and her husband traveled to each of the United States, throughout Canada, Newfoundland and the Arctic Circle. She was always “up” for traveling on an old dirt road, particularly in the North Maine Woods.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 30 years, C. Richard “Dick” Hall of East Dixfield; two sons, Terry Lee Gordon and his wife, Samantha, of Orrington and Darryl Jon Gordon of Wilton; stepsons, Randall “Randy” Hall and Rodney Hall, both of East Dixfield; grandchildren, Garrett Gordon, Erica Gordon, Kiera Newcomer, Amanda Hall, Caleb Hall and Meg Hall; sister, Sharon Rainey of Wilton; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Diana Lynn Gordon, who died in 2002; and her brother, Mark Foster.
