LEWISTON — Alan Gregory of New Gloucester will present “Final Resting Place” at the Food for Thought luncheon at the Senior College at University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017.

In his presentation, Gregory will share stories and images of Arlington National Cemetery and the overseas military cemeteries and memorials operated and maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission. Gregory is a retired U.S. Army officer with more than 31 years of military service.

Following his military career, Gregory entered the federal government workforce and served as the chief financial officer at the American Battle Monuments Commission and at Arlington National Cemetery, where he learned firsthand how appropriate honors are rendered to the nation’s deceased armed forces members. He retired from federal service in 2012 and moved to New Gloucester with his wife, Cathy, who was born in Lewiston.

Gregory holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and management and has completed advanced graduate studies in adult learning and human resource development. 

The program is in Function Room 170. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at noon.

The cost is $7 in advance or $8 at the door, including lunch. Advance reservations must be made by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 11, by calling 207-753-6510. Reservations made after this date and time will be full price.
