The Electoral College has proven its worth, once again.

I am not writing as a Donald Trump supporter — I voted for Gary Johnson.

What I observed Tuesday evening was that the popular vote was close all evening until the results came in from the big western states. California gave Hillary Clinton her popular vote landslide.

If popular vote determined the presidency, candidates would spend much of their time in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. There would be no point in their visiting mostly rural states such as Maine.

I think the Electoral College should be maintained.

If I were in charge, I would require all candidates to visit all 50 states.
