BETHEL — Zack Stone’s timely goal in the second half allowed Telstar to earn a 3-2 victory over Lisbon in regular-season boys’ soccer finale on Tuesday. 

Avry Griffin netted a pair of goals for the Rebels to complete the scoring. Jacob George and Glenn Hill each scored a goal for the Greyhounds. 

Boston Ludden made nine saves for Telstar, while Jonah Sautter deflected 14 shots for Lisbon. 

Richmond 2, Buckfield 0

BUCKFIELD — Richmond managed to light the board once in each half Tuesday, enough to record a 2-0 win over Buckfield in a regular season boys’ soccer finale. 

Matt Rines gave the powerhouse Bobcats (13-1) a 1-0 lead in the first half, while Matt Holt added an insurance goal in the second frame. 

Zach Small made five saves to notch the shutout, while veteran keeper Jake Kraske turned aside 15 shots for the Bucks (10-3-1). 

Rangeley 9, Pine Tree Academy 3

RANGELEY — Zac Trafton netted four goals while his brother Carl added two as Rangeley hustled to a 9-3 late-season boys’ soccer victory over Pine Tree Academy on Monday.

Kenny Thompson, Ricky Thompson and Cody Steward also tallied for the Lakers to complete the scoring. Jared Tamalea’a, Jayy Jean-Louis and Justin Pelletier all scored for PTA in the second frame.

Hunter Lowell (6) and Ricky Thompson (4) combined for 10 saves for Rangeley, while Jobet Tardiff turned aside 15 shots between the posts for Pine Tree.  

Girls’ soccer

Richmond 2, Buckfield 0

BUCKFIELD — Meranda Martin netted a pair of goald in the second half Tuesday to give Richmond a 2-0 season-ending victory over Buckfield in a girls soccer tilt. 

Sydney Tilton made eight saves to preserve the shutout for Richmond (13-1), while Rachel Warren deflected an impressive 17 shots between the posts for Buckfield (8-6). 

Winslow 5, Spruce Mountain 1

JAY — Sara Doughty led a group of four players to register goals Tuesday as Winslow overpowered Spruce Mountain 5-1 in a season-ending girls’ soccer matchup. 

Doughty led the Black Raiders (6-5-3) with two goals, while single tallies from Hailey Grenier, Kate Larsen and Carrie Selwood completed the scoring. Hannah St. Pierre scored the lone goal for Spruce Mountain (2-12) in the second half. 

Brogan Gagnon (4) and Selwood (2) combined to record six saves for Winslow, while Calley Baker turned aside 10 shots for the Phoenix. 

Poland 4, St. Dom’s 3

POLAND — Katelyn Greene converted a pass from Madison Simard at the 23:20 mark of the second half to give Poland a 4-3 win over St. Dom’s in a hard-fought girls’ soccer finale Tuesday. 

Green led the Knights (4-10) with two goals and one assist, while Katriana Pratt and Sydney Hudson also tallied. Avery Lutrzykowski led the Saints (2-12) with two goals, while Christina Cornelio also tallied. 

Simard and Hudson combined to record 15 saves for Poland, while Abby Castonguay deflected nine shots for St. Dom’s. 

Cape Elizabeth 1, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY — Prezli Piscopo’s lone goal in the first half was enough to give Cape Elizabeth a 1-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in another girls’ soccer season finale Tuesday.

Grace Gillian contributed for the Capers (7-5-2) with an assist on Piscopo’s goal.

Alison Ingals made nine saves to notch the shutout, while Chelsea Davis turned back six shots for the Patriots (6-8).  

College field hockey

Bates 4, USM 0

LEWISTON — The Bates field hockey team won its fourth consecutive game with a 4-0 victory over Southern Maine on Tuesday night on Campus Ave. Field.

It was the Bobcats’ (8-5) eighth win of the year, the most victories in one season since 1999 when they went 11-4. The Bobcats’ current four-game winning streak is their longest since they also won four in a row in 2002. 

Bates held the visiting Huskies (7-10) to just five shots, earning sophomore goalkeeper Adelae Durand her second shutout of the season. Durand made a pair of saves on the evening.

Bates dominated the first half of play, out-shooting the Huskies 14-1. But only one of those shots netted a goal for the Bobcats.

In the 34th minute of action, sophomore Adah Lindquist took a penalty corner. Sophomore Emma Patterson received the ball and found sophomore Jessie Moriarty who tallied her team-leading seventh goal of the season to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Patterson’s assist is her second of the year.

Leading 1-0 at halftime, Bates added to their lead in the 54th minute of action. First-year Alexandra Leahy fired a shot on goal. Southern Maine goalkeeper Elizabeth Amadei made the save but the ball deflected to sophomore Taylor Lough cleaned up for her fourth goal of the year.

Just over a minute later, first-year Isa Garcia-Moreno took advantage of a loose ball in front of the net, poking it in to net her third goal of the season. Her goal came at the 54:26 mark, forcing USM to call timeout.

Perhaps the most impressive goal of the game for the Bobcats was their final goal of the night and the second for Garcia-Moreno.

In the 58th minute, Leahy took an aggressive shot from the left side of the cage. The ball sailed up in the air and Garcia-Moreno expertly deflected it into the goal, giving Leahy her second assist of the season and extending the lead to 4-0.
