PORTLAND — Connor Truman scored from one yard out with 31 seconds remaining to cap off a 14-0 road win for Oxford Hills/Buckfield in a Class A football game against Deering (2-4) at Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
Ryland VanDecker opened the scoring with an 8-yard run early in the second quarter for the Vikings (3-3). Dawson Stevens, who made up a 1-2 punch running the ball with VanDecker, made both extra-points, but hit a 25-yard field goal attempt off the right upright in the third.
Portland 34, Lewiston 13
PORTLAND — Griffin Foley scored a pair of touchdowns for host Portland (5-1), which took a 27-0 lead and held on for a 34-13 victory over Lewiston in a Class A North football game Friday nigth at Fitzpatrick Stadium.
Garrett Poussard scored both touchdowns for the Blue Devils (1-5), with the first one from three yards out in the third, then from 20 yards out in the fourth.
Sanford 24, Edward Little 20
SANFORD — Frankie Veino ran for three touchdowns and threw another to Mike Lunny to lead Sanford (4-2) to a 24-20 comeback victory over Edward Little in a Class A football game at Cobb Stadium on Friday night.
The Red Eddies (2-4) led 20-12 at the half, thanks to touchdown passes from Grant Hartley to both Tyler Blanchard (46 yards) and CJ Jipson (20 yards) and a 3-yard touchdown run from Maxx Bell.
Cape Elizabeth 57, Gray-New Gloucester 0
CAPE ELIZABETH — Host Cape Elizabeth jumped out to a 20-0 lead after one quarter and ran away for a 57-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester (0-6) in a Class C South Football game at Hannaford Field on Friday night.
Ben Ekedahl scored two of the first-quarter touchdowns for the Capers (6-0), and Marshall Peterson scored the other.
