JAY — A local man is accused of yelling profanity at police officers, failing to be quiet and not leaving the Jay Police Station when ordered to do so.
Joseph Narhuminti, 76, of Jay was arrested Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of obstructing government administration, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and violation of condition of release.
Narhuminti was upset about a charge of operating while license suspended or revoked that was issued in September by Jay police after a vehicle crash, Police Chief Richard Caton said.
He came to the lobby of the Police Station on Tuesday and yelled profanities at Sgt. Russell Adams and Detective Michael Mejia, Caton said.
“He was asked to quiet down, which he did not, and he was ordered to leave, and he did not,” Caton said.
Narhuminti was arrested and taken to the Franklin County jail in Farmington. He was being held on $750 cash bail and was expected to go before a judge Wednesday.
In May 2015, Narhuminti was arrested and accused of threatening to harm representatives of Maine Revenue Services and others, Maine Capitol Police Chief Russell Gauvin previously said. The threats were made by email and phone over four days, he had said.
It was unclear Wednesday if that case had been resolved.
