Voters who tune in to the first presidential debate on Sept. 26 will see two candidates on the stage. Those two candidates are some of, if not the most, unpopular candidates for the office of president in recent history.

There is another option this year, which many may not even be aware of. Libertarian candidate and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson is averaging around 10 percent in national polls, despite receiving almost no media attention.

Johnson represents a uniquely different approach to the problems facing this country today, and he and his running mate, Bill Weld, have a track record of governing with success.

Voters should have a chance to learn about all of their options in order to make a free and informed choice at the polls this November. The Commission on Presidential Debates should stop limiting the voices that the public is allowed to hear and let Gary Johnson participate in the debate.
