ANSWER: Sun Spots is unable to find updated information on the female singing group to which you are referring. It’s possible that they are no longer performing together locally. There are some other options, however, if you are searching for an opportunity nearby to stretch those vocal cords.
Maine-ly Harmony is a women’s competing chorus that rehearses in Augusta at the Salvation Army at 36 Eastern Avenue every Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. They offer carpooling from outer areas, so try contacting Donna at aryder3@roadrunner.com for more information.
The Maine Music Society also presents a couple of possibilities for singers who are eager to perform with a group. They have two co-ed groups of performers — the Maine Music Society Chorale and the Maine Music Society Chamber Singers. If you have questions or wish to schedule an audition, please contact John Corrie atjcorrie@bates.edu, or call him at (207) 576-8995.
Hopefully, if readers know of others, they’ll let Sun Spots know so she can pass along the information.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Treat Memorial Library is accepting book donations for its annual Apple Pumpkin Festival Book Sale. If you have any books to donate, please bring them by the library during our regular hours. The book sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 24. Thank you to everyone who has already donated.
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 15, we will be offering Free Try-It Sessions with our new 3-D pens. The library now owns a 3Doodler 2.0 and 3Doodler Start. Anyone age 8 years and up will enjoy the Start. Anyone age 14 years and up may find the 2.0 more challenging. These free sessions are an introduction to the use of these pens (emphasizing safety) and a chance to let creativity soar.
We ask everyone interested to preregister by calling the library at (207) 897-3631. After the free Try-It Session, anyone wishing to use the pens (once they show they know how) may reserve times to create their own projects, but we will be charging for the plastic used — this is printing, after all. Thank you. — Brianna Rush, assistant library director, Treat Memorial Library, Livermore Falls.
