LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library at 56 Main St. has announced upcoming programming, including the opportunity for day care centers to host a librarian.

Preschool Story Time: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Story time features stories, activities and crafts for young children. 

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: For those with children who are prekindergarten age, the self-paced 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a great way to earn incentives such as free board books while enjoying the many benefits of reading to children. Readers simply keep track of the books read with the child. For every 100 books, readers can turn in their log at the library and earn a prize.

Irish Fiction: 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. The series continues with An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor. Our Book Club will meet to discuss this selection on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. Please contact the library if you would like a copy of the book.

Teen Writers: 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 13 and 27. Area teens age 12 and older interested in creative writing may attend.

Lego Club: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. Kids can take on one of the challenges provided or just get creative. Larger Duplo Legos will be available for younger builders. Lego masterpieces will be displayed until the next meeting in the library.

Apple Pumpkin Festival Book Sale: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. The annual book sale will takes place downstairs in the auditorium. The library has received some lovely book donations this year. Buyers may choose their own donation amount.

Knit/Crochet: at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. The library will begin meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month where people can learn to knit or crochet, seek advice about a project or just craft with other knitters and crocheters. A volunteer instructor will help community members who want to learn or seek advice. Materials such as yarn and knitting needles will also be available.

Brianna Rush, assistant director of the Treat Memorial Library, will schedule monthly story time visits with day cares in the Livermore Falls, Livermore and Jay area. 

The library will closed on Tuesday, Sept. 6, to observe Labor Day.
