Mystery Photo for August 14, 2016

Several people correctly identifed last week’s mystery photo as the town clock in the Norway Opera House on Main Street in downtown Norway. Many noted it was built in 1894 after a devastating fire destroyed much of the downtown. Several noted they went to concerts, balls and movies or worked in the building. The winner, chosen randomly was Jean Saunders of South Paris. She said, “It marked the hours when I attended elementary and high school in Norway, as well as when I worked at Lambert’s Clothing Store on Main Street near the old clock itself. Glad that it has been restored and is once again sounding out its chimes.” Saunders is the winner of a $20 gift card from Hannaford Supermarkets.
