AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Land Trust and Augusta Birding Club announce the annual Lyceum field trips, “Maine Birds and Their Habitats.”

The first event will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Hutchinson Pond, Manchester. Participants will see many migratory and breeding birds as they explore the trails through fields and woods, with views of a wetland pond and Hutchinson Pond.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, June 10, hikers at Torsey Pond Nature Preserve, Readfield, will look for breeding birds in the woods and for wetland birds at the duck blind. Ninety-nine species of birds have been documented at the preserve.
