Recently I saw a news report on television in which it was reported that Gov. Paul LePage had proposed random blood testing for all people on welfare.
It is about time.
Since people on welfare have little or no other visible incomes, where else do they get money to pay for illegal drugs? Why should taxpayers pay for their drug habit? That is ridiculous.
Employers all over this country often require random drug testing. NASCAR has had a no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drug usage for years. There have been few if any complaints.
If people have nothing to hide, why would it bother them?
Illegal drugs are illegal for everyone — rich, poor and in between. A drug policy has nothing to do with violating human rights or discrimination. It has to do with common sense and the law against illegal drugs — no exceptions.
