For years, many across the state have asked those in Augusta for true welfare reform. Too often, I hear reports of EBT cards found at drug busts or being used improperly. I have been waiting for legislators to enact laws that will make a real change. Sen. Eric Brakey did what he promised, successfully passing real welfare reform for Maine. That is why I will be supporting him for re-election in November.

As chairman for the Health and Human Services Committee, Brakey has made fighting for true and lasting welfare reform one of his top priorities, and I know that he will continue to do so.

He is running for his second term to the Maine Senate, representing the people of Minot, Auburn, Mechanic Falls, New Gloucester, and Poland. I am casting my vote for Eric Brakey and I invite all others to join me.

Dave Adams, Minot
