In 2015, I received the Good Science Scholarship from Poland Spring that truly made a difference in contributing to my education. It has opened up my life to a world of opportunity and introduced me to a company that has taught me more than I could have imagined.

I graduated from Poland Regional High School and am currently going into my sophomore year of college at the University of Maine with a major in ecology and environmental science. I am focusing my education in natural resource management and sustainability and I have found that I fit right in as an intern for Poland Spring’s Natural Resource Department.

I have been with Poland Spring for six short weeks and have already seen the good they do for my community and environment. I have been involved in sampling the water, educating children in the community, monitoring well levels and much more. I am surrounded every day by those who want nothing more than to make Maine’s pristine natural resources last forever.

I would like to congratulate this year’s recipients of the Good Science Scholarship; I hope they take advantage of the many opportunities it can bring.
