PARIS — Andrew Fleming scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Oxford Hills Vikings defeated the Mt. Blue Cougars 2-1 in a KVAC contest Thursday.

Fleming had a double in the game. Jake Beauchesne hit a double in the bottom of the second and scored Oxford Hills’ (10-5) first run on a sac fly by Emery Chickering.

Corey Rogers scored Mt. Blue’s only run in the third. Thomas Wing and Ryan Pratt each had a double.

Blake Slicer threw a complete game for the Vikings, striking out eight and allowing four hits. Miles Pelletier went the distance for Mt. Blue (10-5).

Softball

Oxford Hills 10, Mt. Blue 4

PARIS — Madison Starbird belted three hits to key the Oxford Hills offense and sister Makayla added a pair of hits and two runs batted in as the Vikings rolled to a 10-4 win over visiting Mt. Blue in KVAC action Thursday.

Kasia Heikkinen added a pair of hits for Oxford Hills (10-4-1), which moved closer to clinching the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Class A North playoffs.

Cody Akeres picked up the complete-game win from the circle.

Kasadie Barker and Macey Phillipps stroked doubles for the Cougars (4-11). Hailey Farrington suffered the loss.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Messlonskee 10, Lewison 3

OAKLAND — Ally Turner had four goals and Lydia Dexter added three more to lead the Messalonskee Eagles to a 10-3 victory over the Lewiston Blue Devils in a girls’ KVAC lacrosse game.

Erin Lachance, Gabby Wilson and Christine Chasse all scored for the Blue Devils.

Lewiston is now 7-4, while the No. 1-ranked Eagles improve to 10-1.
