LEWISTON — A brush fire along a walking trail at Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary early Monday evening was termed suspicious by police. 

Lewiston police Sgt. Danny Lachance said the fire burned two sections about 80 by 44 feet each. There were no injuries and no suspects, he said.

Lachance said the dry air most likely contributed to the blaze. 

“The Fire Department did an excellent job putting the fire out with their quick response,” he said.

The flames were knocked down by 6:45 p.m.
