ARUNDEL (AP) — A 46-year-old Falmouth man is in critical condition after his truck careened off state Route 111 and struck a tree in southern Maine.

Sheriff Bill King says Anthony Mastroluca was driving west on Alfred Road in Arundel when his pickup truck left the road and hit a tree around noon Wednesday.

Mastroluca was partially ejected from the vehicle and was found unconscious by first responders. He was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford but was later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he remains in serious condition.

York County sheriffs and Arundel firefighters responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
