FARMINGTON — The first Franklin County Wellness Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The wellness fair will showcase local wellness-related businesses and give the community a chance to receive information and tools that help support a healthy lifestyle.

Highlights include workshops and demonstrations throughout the day to help cultivate a healthy lifestyle.

Scheduled events include: Healthy Community Coalition cooking demonstration at 9:30 a.m.; mindfulness workshop at 10:30 a.m.; UMF Fitness & Recreation Center staff teaching how to exercise without equipment at 11:30 a.m.; and an essential oils presentation by End of the Rainbow Alternatives at 12:30 p.m. There will be yoga demonstrations throughout the day.

The Elks Drug Awareness trailer and Healthy Community Coalition mobile units will also appear at the fair.

The Healthy Community Coalition will bring its body analyzer. Body analysis identifies body composition, obesity analysis, body type, extracellular and intracellular water and segmental lean analysis.

Door prizes will be given out.
