CAMDEN — A lawyer for “American Pie” singer Don McLean says the Camden resident’s domestic violence assault case is not close to an end.
McLean was arrested in January on charges including domestic violence assault and has pleaded not guilty. Attorney Walter McKee says the case is scheduled for a court conference on Thursday.
Lawyers will meet with a judge to go over the status of the case at the conference. McLean himself will not be there.
McLean’s wife filed a handwritten request for protection after the January arrest. The couple later announced through McKee that the protection order was dismissed.
McLean’s wife then filed for divorce last month. Legal papers filed in March cite “adultery, cruel and abusive treatment, and irreconcilable differences.”
