LIVERMORE — Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 290 Norlands Road, will host a pancake breakfast and old-time maple sugaring from 9:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27.

Visitors can have breakfast in the farmer’s cottage with fresh hot pancakes and sausage drizzled in Norlands’ own maple syrup.

The sap house will offer boiling demonstrations and allow attendees to meet the working team of oxen.

The District No. 7 one-room schoolhouse will transport visitors back to 1853. The schoolmarm will teach reading, writing and arithmetic using materials of the time.

Visitors can walk or snowshoe along the wooded carriage trails on 445 acres, and visit the gift shop for Norlands’ own maple syrup and other treats to take home.

The cost is $5 to $7 for breakfast; otherwise free. No reservations necessary.
