Susquehanna University dean’s list

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Several local students were named to Susquehanna University’s dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester.

Greta-Anne Castonguay of Turner is a biology major in the Class of 2016. A 2012 graduate of Leavitt Area High School, she is the daughter of David and Gisele Castonguay.

Katherine Millett of Poland is a strategic communications major in the Class of 2016. A 2012 graduate of North Yarmouth Academy High School, she is the daughter of Timothy and Annemarie Millett.

Corrie Van Haasteren of Raymond is an economics major in the Class of 2016. A 2012 graduate of Hebron Academy High School, he is the son of Christopher and Ellen Van Haasteren.

Clarkson University students awarded

POTSDAM, N.Y. — Clarkson University has announced recipients of endowed, sponsored and Share Clarkson scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Christina Elizabeth Pollard of Raymond, a junior majoring in electrical engineering received the FLIR Systems Inc. Endowed Scholarship.

Desmond Horowitz of Casco, a sophomore majoring in biomolecular science received the Clarkson University Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Juniata College dean’s list

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — A local student achieved Juniata College’s dean’s list for the fall semester of 2015. The dean’s list recognizes grade point averages of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0. 

Zoe Jennifer Oswald of Auburn is a junior studying entrepreneurship. Oswald is the daughter of Dr. Kurt Oswald and Jennifer Oswald.

Mount Ida College dean’s list

NEWTON, Mass. — Area students have been named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at Mount Ida College for achieving a GPA of 3.33 or higher.

The students are Samantha Reynolds of Industry, Patricia Ryan of Livermore Falls and Devon Willard of Norway.

Minieri named to dean’s list

ATLANTA, Ga. — Joseph Minieri of Pownal made the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Tufts names dean’s lists

MEDFORD, Mass. — Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for undergraduate students enrolled for the fall 2015 semester.

Local students named include Sidney Beecy of Auburn, Class of 2018; Sophia Bunnell of Wilton, Class of 2018; Bethany Gill of Auburn, Class of 2017; and Benjamin Randall of Lisbon Falls, Class of 2016.

Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

UMass Lowell names dean’s list

LOWELL, Mass. — Morgan Bowen of Lewiston was recently recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Bowen, majoring in exercise physiology, was named to the dean’s list at UMass Lowell for the fall 2015 semester.

To qualify for the dean’s list at UMass Lowell, a student must have completed no fewer than 12 graded credits for the semester and earned at least a 3.25 grade point average with no grade lower than C and without any incompletes.

Smith graduates Paul Smith’s College

PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. — Zachary Smith of East Dixfield graduated from Paul Smith’s College in December 2015.

Smith earned a bachelor of science degree in forestry from Paul Smith’s, which is located in the Adirondack Park in upstate New York.

Smith was also named to the dean’s list at Paul Smith’s College for the fall 2015 semester. He earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction. Smith was also named an Adirondack Scholar, having achieved a cumulative average of at least 3.8.
