DIXFIELD — The Board of Selectmen will hold its first budget workshop Tuesday, Feb. 16, downstairs in the Ludden Memorial Library.
It will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Town Manager Carlo Puiia said the primary discussion will be the Police Department.
“We are committed to having a five-man police department until approximately the first week in August,” Puiia said. “We had hoped to discuss this at our regular selectmen meeting (on Feb. 8), but unfortunately, we had to cancel.”
Residents voted last year to approve $355,000 for the department.
Each department submits its proposal in writing for review.
“We hope to have all of the (department) budget books complete for that evening,” Puiia continued. “We are still waiting for a few vendors to supply their estimates for the 2017 year,” he said, referring to the town’s insurance company and other suppliers of services.
Puiia said he has asked the town Finance Committee to attend.
