RUMFORD — Among the calls answered by the Police Department recently were:

* Jan. 6, 5:49 p.m. — James Jasud, 41, of Dixfield, was arrested on Lincoln Avenue for operating after suspension, unlawful possession of Schedule “W” drug and was charged with sale/use of paraphernalia and possession of usable amount of marijuana. Jasud was given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m. He was released on $1200 unsecured bail. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and made bail of $620 cash.

* Jan. 7, 3:40 p.m. — Shawn Russell, 37, of Rumford, was arrested on Bridge Street for OAS. He was released on $600 unsecured bail and was given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m.

* Jan. 8, 10:40 a.m. — Kris Welch, 33 of Rumford, was arrested on Knox Street for domestic violence assault, which occurred on Swain Road. Welch was given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m. and released on $1000 unsecured bail.

* Jan. 9, 12:11 p.m. — Report of an attempted burglary on Hartford Street. Someone had attempted to pry open a door. Sgt. James Bernard is investigating.

* Jan. 9, 5:08 p.m. — Jacob Ortiz, 36, of Rumford, was arrested on Cumberland Street for possession of Schedule “W” (hydrocodone) and possession of Schedule “Z” (Amitriptyline) and was given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m. He posted $650 cash bail.

* Jan. 9, 5:08 p.m. — Aisha Torres, 33, of Rumford, was arrested on Cumberland Street for possession of hydrocodone and violation conditions of release. She was given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m. Torres made $650 cash bail.

* Jan. 11, 7:30 a.m. — Report of a burglary on Hartford Street. Door and safe was pried open. Unknown at this time what was taken. Ptl. Lawrence Briggs is investigating.

* Jan. 11, 10:31 a.m. — Laura Doroghazi, 29, of Rumford was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. Doroghazi was transported to the Rumford Police Department where she was able to post $100 cash bail.

* Jan. 11, 8:32 p.m. — A Waldo Street resident reported a male smashed her cell phone. Ptl. James Mclamb responded. A 21-year-old Rumford male was summonsed for criminal mischief and given a Rumford District Court date of March 14 at 8:30 a.m.

* Jan. 12, 12:32 p.m. — Kenneth Boyle, 50, of Rumford was arrested on a failure to appear warrant. Boyle was transported to Oxford County Jail.

* Jan. 13, 3:04 p.m. — Joseph Hebert, 20, of Dixfield was arrested for violation of conditions of release. Hebert is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on March 14 at 8:30 a.m. Hebert was released on $6000 unsecured bail.

* Jan. 14, 8:40 a.m. — A Waldo Street business reported a theft. Ptl. Matthew Desroches investigated and summonsed a 14 year-old-year Rumford boy for theft. Court date March 21.

* Jan. 14, 5:56 p.m. — Sylvia Thompson, 29 of Rumford, was arrested on River Street for an active warrant. Unable to make bail she was transported to OCJ.
