FAIRFIELD — State police say they are still investigating the discovery of the remains of a baby boy inside a garage in the central Maine town of Fairfield.

Police say the State Medical Examiner’s Office has examined the body and additional testing is taking place. The baby’s parents have cooperated with the investigation and they have been interviewed by detectives. Police say the remains of the baby were found on Monday.

Police say the parents lived in a mobile home with their three-year-old daughter, who is staying with other relatives. Police have been collecting evidence from the home and the detached garage since Sunday and expect to complete work on Wednesday night.
