1927 – 2015
AUBURN — Jeanne D’arc P. Beauchesne, 88, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 12, 1927, a daughter of the late Leon and Eugenie (Thibault) Pelletier. She grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools.
On June 21, 1947, she married Willie Beauchesne and the two started a family together. During that time, Jeanne worked as a stitcher for Knapp Shoe and was there for many years.
She will always be remembered for her love of reading, playing cards, especially Phase 10 and Skip-Bo, playing the slots at Oxford Casino and board games such as Tuck. She also enjoyed ceramics and various arts and crafts as well as going to the beach and the water, spending quality time with her family and baking. Jeanne had many close friends and was known as “Memere Beauchesne” to not only her own grandchildren, but others as well.
She is survived by the love of her life of 68 years, Willie Beauchesne of Auburn; her children, Robert Beauchesne and his wife, Suzanne, of Auburn, Joanne Doucette and her husband, Roger, of Auburn, Jaqueline Poulin and her husband, Dana, of South Carolina, Laurier Beauchesne and his wife, Susan, of Lewiston and Jane Kyllonen and her husband, Ronald, of Leeds. She also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her five brothers, Gerard, Leo, Gene, Rosaire and Real; her three sisters, Rita, Ida and Lillian; and one great-great-grandson.
