Spaulding Scholarship winner announced 

AUBURN — Cindy Williams of Topsham has been awarded the 2016 Spaulding Memorial Scholarship at Central Maine Community College.

This scholarship is awarded in memory of the late Jason Spaulding, who was a student in the Electromechanical Technology program at CMCC.

Williams has completed the certificate program in culinary arts and is currently an honors student in the associate degree program in hospitality management. She plans to complete her degree in the fall. She is member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

DeLuca named to JMU dean’s list

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Isabella Jean DeLuca of Hanover has been named to the dean’s list at James Madison University for the fall 2015 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA between 3.5 and 3.899. DeLuca is scheduled to graduate in 2019 and is majoring in marketing.

Cary graduates from Clemson University

CLEMSON, S.C. — Nicole Barbour Cary of Mechanic Falls graduated from Clemson University on Dec. 17, 2015, with a bachelor of landscape architecture degree.

Cary was among 1,275 students who received degrees in the graduation ceremony at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.

Becker College dean’s list students

WORCESTER, Mass.— The Becker College dean’s list recognizes all full-time students (24 or more credit hours earned for the academic year; 12 minimum each semester September through May) whose term grade point average is 3.50 or higher with no grade below a B- and no incomplete (I) or withdrawal/failing (WF) grades.

Local students are Anthony Dirago of Bethel and Thomas Kugelman of North Bridgton.

Lewiston students on dean’s list

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Western New England University named over 450 students to the fall 2015 president’s list.

The following local students were named to list, earning at least a 3.80 grade point average:

Kruguer placed on dean’s list

NEWARK, Del. — Savannah Kruguer of Brownfield has been named to the University of Delaware’s dean’s list for the 2015 fall semester.

To meet eligibility requirements, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Lewiston resident spends fall 2015 semester in Denmark

EASTON, Mass. — Lewiston resident Joy E. Harrington spent the fall 2015 semester at the Danish Institute for International Studies in Denmark. A member of the Class of 2016 at Stonehill College, Harrington is majoring in sociology and American studies.

Swart makes SUNY Canton dean’s list

CANTON, N.Y. — Jaime E. Swart of Lewiston was named to the State University of New York Canton dean’s list for exceptional academic performance during the fall 2015 semester. Swart is a veterinary science technology major and 2010 graduate of Lewiston High School.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Lajoie makes president’s list at Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, S.C. — Brianna Lajoie of Lewiston, a junior majoring in exercise and sport science, has been named to the president’s list at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2015 semester.

To qualify for the president’s list for high academic achievement, students must be enrolled full time and earn a 4.0 GPA.
