NORWAY — Nancy DeHart Wood, longtime Norway resident, died Monday, Nov. 23, after a brief illness at the home of her son, Peter Wood. She was 80.
She was born in Boston on March 5, 1935, to Albert and Susan Greene and grew up in Ashland, Mass., at the family apple orchard. Her education included graduation from Walnut Hill School, University of New Hampshire and New England Baptist Hospital, where she earned a registered nursing degree.

She was a longtime member of the First Universalist Church of Norway, where she was active in social justice issues, as well as in the choir and the campaign for a new church organ.
Known for her joy in life, big heart and sense of adventure, she loved classical music, foreign travel, good food, good friends, sunny beaches, Scotland and her family.
She is survived by her sons, Peter and Timothy of Norway; brother and sister-in-law, George and Pat Greene of Wiscasset; granddaughter, Bailey Wood of Norway; nieces, Anita Wood of Lewiston, Nora Davis of North Carolina, and Susan Greene of Wiscasset; and many cousins.
