Lisbon christens its new gym with a substantial group of seven returnees that received on-the-job training in the old one a year ago.

The Greyhounds saw their win total cut in half after a tournament appearance in 2013-14, but they should be a year older and wiser in the MVC. Lisbon still lacks height, but it should flaunt plenty of athleticism.

Tyrese Joseph’s offseason commitment to conditioning paid huge dividends during football season, so his contributions likely will skyrocket this winter. Josh Huston, Austin Bedford, Noah Carter and Troy Galarneau also saw significant time in the Greyhounds’ regular rotation. Jonah Sautter cracked the starting lineup as a freshman.

Team rebounding and quickness will be crucial to Lisbon’s success. The Greyhounds return to Class B after a brief stint in C, so reaching the playoffs and achieving success there will be a slightly tougher task. There should be plenty of wins available to Lisbon in the meat of a balanced MVC schedule, if the Greyhounds play up to their capabilities.
