1955 – 2015
FAYETTE — Suzanne Marie Smith, 60, of Fayette died unexpectedly at her home in Fayette, Monday evening, Nov. 2.
Sue was born on March 1, 1955, a daughter of Raoul L. and Fleur Ange (Veilleux) Roy. She received her education in the Livermore Falls school system, and graduated from high school in 1973. After high school, Sue married her first husband, Douglas Williams Jr. and together they had two children, Travis and Jason, before his passing in 1988. She continued to raise her boys on her own until meeting the love of her life, Kenneth Smith, and his children, Jeremy and Barbara Ann.
On June 29, 1991, she married Ken and they built a log cabin in Fayette and lived together for 25 happy years. They enjoyed entertaining guests at their downstairs bar, where everyone was always welcome. Sunny days were spent relaxing on her porch swing. Sue also enjoyed shopping at local thrift stores and enjoyed going to yard sales, often finding old records to add to her vinyl collection. She had a passion for cooking, holding many jobs in the food service industry. Her most recent job was working in the deli at Food City in Livermore Falls, where she loved being able to interact with her favorite customers and friends, always with a happy-go-lucky attitude. She enjoyed listening to many types of music and going to bluegrass festivals. Sue took great pride in decorating her house with her extensive bear collection and beautiful house plants. Above all, Sue was a devoted wife and a good mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Olivia.
Sue is survived by her husband, Ken Smith of Fayette; children, Travis Williams of Fayette, Jason Williams and his wife, Molly, of Augusta; stepson, Jeremy Smith of Fayette; stepdaughter, Barbara Ann Adams of Livermore; a granddaughter, Olivia Williams; a grandson, Devon Smith; siblings, Doris Stanley and her partner, Raymond Veilleux, of Florida, Roger Roy and his fiance, Daphne Scribner, of Eustis, and Roland Roy and his wife, Lottie, of Jay.
