LEWISTON — The Dream Team, a fundraising team for the Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, will host its Second Annual Soup, Chili and Chowder Challenge from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Baxter Brewing, 130 Mill St.

Proceeds from the Challenge are dedicated to patient care at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s Hospice House. The 2016 Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk events are scheduled for May 1 in Farmington and May 15 in Auburn.

“The Dream Team is excited to host its second Soup, Chili and Chowder Challenge. Last year’s event featured 16 participants sharing a wide variety of tasty dishes. We are expecting an even larger turnout this year,” said Kate Sicotte, Dream Team co-captain. “In addition, we are particularly delighted to be partnering with Baxter Brewing which enables us to open the event to the public.”

The Dream Team will present awards for People’s Choice and Judges Choice, and event attendees can sample all entries and vote for their favorite. Attendees will be entered into a raffle for participating.

The Dream Team will hold a 50/50 raffle and create a cookbook featuring recipes of all the entries, available for purchase at the event for $3. Baxter Brewing is offering a discount of $1 per pint with an admission ticket for participants 21 and older.

Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $12 for adults and $6 for children. Children younger than 4 eat free. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Tickets can be purchased at Baxter Brewing, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Lewiston at 15 Strawberry Ave. and at the Hospice House at 236 Stetson Road in Auburn.

The Dream Team is one of the many teams that host fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for the Hospice House. To learn more about how you can start your own team, visit www.ahch.org and click on “Special Events.”
