LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, will host a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 14. All employers will be hiring.
Employers participating in the job fair include: Assistance Plus, Argo Marketing, Bates College, Carbonite, Catholic Charities, Clover Health Care, Community Clinical Services, Conifer Industries, Elmet Technologies, Express Employment Professionals, Geiger Bros., Genesis Health Care, Goodwill Industries NNE, Globe, Growing Opportunities, Homecare for Maine, Home Depot, Industrial Roofing Companies, Kelly Services, Labor Ready, Lewiston Police Department, Liberty Tax, Lowe’s Home Centers, Manpower, Nouria Energy, Oxford Casino, Parker Hannifin Corp., SequelCare of Maine, Spurwink, ServiceMaster, Stericycle, Staff Management, Sun Journal, Target Marketing Maine, Ted Berry Co., Time Warner Cable and Xerox.
Positions available include BHP, MHRT, CNA, PSS LPN clinicians, office, medical, light industrial, police officers, clerical, manufacturing, warehouse, data entry, administration, assembly, customer service, machine operation, medical assistant, office secretary and technical support professional, tax preparers, wavers, roofing, customer care assistants, IT, management, interns, cashiers, delivery drivers, janitorial and floor technicians.
Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese and Somali interpreters will be available to offer assistance.
The CareerCenter will also have information available on training opportunities to help job seekers in transition. They will also provide large municipal maps with bus routes so job seekers can locate the companies they are interested in and determine if transportation will be an issue.
Attendees should bring a resume and be prepared to have an “interview-like” conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities. Job seekers should also be dressed for an interview. Resumes will be reviewed on site or after the fair.
CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of workshops and services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
