1929 – 2015
AUBURN — Madeleine (Bolduc) Brodeur, 86, of Lewiston died Saturday morning, Sept. 5, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
She was born in Lewiston on April 29, 1929, and was the daughter of the late William and Lea (Beland) Bolduc. In October 1948, she married the love of her life, Henry (Hank) Brodeur at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston and raised three children. Her beloved Henry passed away in 1997.
She worked for the State of Maine where she retired after 26 years from the Department of Labor, Employment Security Commission. At Meadowview, she served on the board and volunteered in bingo. Madeleine enjoyed playing bingo with all her many dear friends. Her favorite hobby was reading romance novels, and she devoured three to four books a week. She also enjoyed watching tennis on TV. Christmas was her favorite holiday, knowing that the whole family would be together. She always insisted that everyone show up!
She is survived by three devoted children, Normand Brodeur and his wife, Denise Parent-Brodeur, Peter Brodeur and his spouse, Douglas Davenport, and Rachel Brodeur and family friend, Linda Joseph. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ashley Brodeur, Ethyn Brodeur and his wife, Julianna, Tiffany, Timothy, and Thomas Mathieu; and to her delight, she just found out two weeks ago that her first great-grandchild is expected to arrive in March 2016.
We are at peace knowing she is with our Lord Jesus and her beloved Henry, who was the love of her life. May they dance with joy and happiness in heaven…together again. Love you, Mom and Dad — until we see you again!
