LEWISTON — Community Clinical Services (CCS) is celebrating the nation’s 50th anniversary of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, in the Community Room at B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St.

During the celebration those attending will hear from U.S. Sen. Angus King, National Association of Community Health Centers Vice President of Public Policy and Research Dan Hawkins, Maine Primary Care Association Executive Director Vanessa Santarelli, CCS Executive Director Joan Churchill and a CCS patient.

Healthy snacks will be available as well as free children’s toothbrushes.

Federally Qualified Health Centers were created 50 years ago to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare services to millions of uninsured and medically underserved people across the nations.

CCS has more than a dozen FQHC locations in the Lewiston and Auburn area, providing family, pediatric, dental, behavioral health and psychiatric services.
