NEW SHARON — New town clerk and tax collector Pam Griswold began her duties Monday.

Griswold was deputy clerk and tax collector from 1990 to 2008.

The Town Office will be closed Aug. 17-21 to allow Griswold and other staff to attend training required by the state.

Office hours starting the week of Aug. 24 will be as follows: 

* Mondays, training day, closed for public business

* Wednesdays, open 1 to 7 p.m. 

* Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.

The town website, www.newsharon.maine.gov, will be updated with any cancellations due to additional state-mandated training requirements.
