LEWISTON — An 11-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday morning when he was struck by an SUV while riding his bike on Tall Pines Drive, police said. 

Lewiston police said the boy was taken by LifeFlight medical helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Police said Saturday night that the boy was in stable condition in the hospital’s critical care unit.

Police declined to release the name of the boy or the driver of the SUV because the incident was under investigation. No charges had been filed.
