1932 – 2015

HARTFORD — Shirley Ann Higgins, 83, of Hartford, passed away Aug. 5, after a short battle with mesothelioma, at home with her family by her side.

She was born Jan. 9, 1932, to Merle and Mildred Keough. She was educated in Auburn schools. She was employed at Summit Communications until her retirement. She married Richard Higgins Nov. 10, 1982. She loved gardening, traveling, and her cats and dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years; her five children, Bruce Brown, Gail Michaud, Brad Brown, Becky Brown, Kim Ouellette; and two step-children, Jeff Higgins and Rick Higgins; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister Margaret Stevens. She was blessed with a large and loving family.
