WILTON — The Board of Selectpersons voted Tuesday to readvertise for bids for roof work on a building at Kineowatha Park.

Town Manager Rhonda Irish said no bids were received and no inquiries made as the result of previous advertisements in local papers.

Realizing contractors may have work lined up through the fall, the board voted to have the bid request stipulate the work must be completed by mid-June 2016.

In other business, the board signed a quitclaim deed, turning ownership of the Wilton Tannery property over to Wilson Stream Business Park, LLC.

Brothers John Black and James Black purchased the property from the town for $1.

Irish provided updates on several items, including the Downtown Revitalization project. After meetings to consider water, sewer and public utilities on Main Street, engineers with Wright Pierce expect to present a design by mid-August, she said.

Because of unexpected work for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the bid for a Phase II assessment of the Forster Mill property is still being worked on. The DEP work involves a more thorough study and a more thorough bid, she said.

Bids for the upgrade at the Wilton Waste Treatment plant will be opened at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the Town Office.

The town has been approved to apply for a Land & Water Conservation Fund grant for the Kineowatha Park wall, she said. Irish met with the grant coordinator to look over the area and what could be included. Work on parking and a better access trail to the beach area may come under the grant.

The wall runs from the trees behind the dock and over to the beach area and needs work to improve safety, she said. The grant application is due in November.
