AUBURN — Auburn Recreation has announce the start of “Movies in the Park,” a summer series of family-fun films that will be shown in various outdoor locations around the city.
Auburn Recreation invites the community to relax and enjoy a great film on a cinema-style screen under the night sky. The series kicks off at Festival Plaza on Friday, July 31, with the children’s movie, “Ratatouille” (rated G).
All movies will begin at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.) and are free and open to the public.
Seating is first-come, first-serve and residents are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows and/or low chairs. Several nonprofit organizations are expected to be onsite and accepting donations for snacks and nonalcoholic beverages. Residents may also bring their own treats.
In the event of rain, the movie will be moved indoors to the Hasty Gym located at Pettengill Park.
The full schedule of movies is as follows:
Friday, July 31, Festival Plaza, “Ratatouille” (G).
Friday, Aug. 28, New Auburn, location TBD, “The Jungle Book” (G).
Sunday, Sept. 6, Lake Grove Park, “Gone with the Wind” (G).
