WCSH-TV reported (http://on.wcsh6.com/1U0dsPz ) that police say John Knight was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 Tiger Lily Lane in Cape Elizabeth.

Cape Elizabeth Police Captain Brent Sinclair says there was rot in the wood railing on the balcony, but added that it’s too early in the investigation to say whether that contributed to fatal fall.

Police say Knight’s family members weren’t home and that no one witnessed the Saturday afternoon fall.
