MEXICO — Selectmen are expected to sign the town manager’s contract at Thursday night’s meeting.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. July 16 in the Calvin P. Lyons meeting room.
John Madigan has served as manager for Mexico and Rumford since 2013.
Also on the agenda is whether to switch board meetings from the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month to the first and third Tuesdays, the same as Rumford.
“Last year, between Mexico and Rumford, there was a selectmen meeting every week for me to attend, which made it impossible to take a vacation,” Madigan said. “Mexico agreed to switch their meeting dates so I’d have a week without meetings, which would make it easier to take a vacation.”
Another item for discussion is replacing the steel door leading into the Calvin P. Lyons room.
“There are cracks where the hinges attach to the frame,” Madigan said. “I have some estimates to present to the selectmen, so they’ll discuss that and figure out what to do next.”
Discussion on whether to renew an advertisement for the “Paper Talks” magazine is also on the agenda.
