David Oliver of Standish scored his first career Pro All Stars Series North win in familiar territory Saturday night, winning the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge 150 at his home track, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

Oliver exchanged the lead with Kelly Moore before reclaiming it for good on lap 42. The final 124 laps unfolded without a caution flag.

Bryan Kruczek threatened to make it back-to-back Beech Ridge PASS wins. He reeled in Oliver with five laps to go after racing from 24th starting position to second, but engine failure prevented him from making his move.

Two-time defending Oxford 250 winner Travis Benjamin was second, followed by Turner’s Mike Rowe. Beech Ridge weekly competitor Bobby Timmons and Richie Dearborn completed the top five.

Oliver won his heat race and started on the pole.

Among other locals and notables, Ben Rowe of Turner was 10th, Beech Ridge champion Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay 11th, Cassius Clark of Farmington 14th, PASS North champion D.J. Shaw 15th, Shawn Knight of Oxford 18th, Scott McDaniel of Livermore 19th, Travis Stearns of Auburn 25th, Glen Luce of Turner 29th and T.J. Brackett of Buckfield 30th.

In Beech Ridge weekly competition Jon Brill won the Wildcat feature ahead of Chaz Briggs and Cole Watson. After an early wreck that impacted nearly the entire field, Brandon Barker was victorious in the Sport Series over Dalton Gagnon and Craig Smith.

Scott Alexander won the PASS Modified event.

Brackett does it again

It took half the season for the Super Late Model division at Oxford Plains Speedway to produce a repeat winner. Now, suddenly, the question is when somebody will beat Tim Brackett again.

Brackett made it back-to-back wins and three overall with his charge from the rear of the field in the 50-lap OPS main event Friday night.

He reeled in Knight, another driver on a recent hot streak, before taking advantage of a restart with seven laps to go. Brackett also extended his division point lead with the triumph, as second-place championship contender Kyle Treadwell finished with a damaged race car after his involvement in an early crash.

Making only his second start of the season, past OPS champion Dennis Spencer Jr. scrambled from deep in the pack to second. Knight, who initially took the lead from Vanna Brackett was third, followed by Alan Wilson and Shawn Martin.

Rick Spaulding won for the second this season in the Street Stock ranks. Rivals who hoped to gain ground on point leader Zach Emerson were sorely disappointed, however, because Emerson was right in Spaulding’s tire tracks for a runner-up verdict. Josh Childs was third, trailed by top rookie Calvin Rose Jr. and Gary Davis.

The Figure Eight field is getting closer, but Jon Lizotte remained undefeated in the revived daredevil division with another checkered flag. Allen Higgins was second with Eric Hodgkins, Mike St. Germain and Wayne Ambrose in tow.

Kyle Hewins dominated the 20-lap Bandit feature with Cam Childs giving chase before settling for runner-up laurels. Ryan Kane raced from deep in the field to finish third. Point leader Shawn Hinkley edged Richard Kimball for fourth.

Chubbuck wins at Wiscasset

Scott Chubbuck has dominated the Pro Stock division at Wiscasset Speedway since the 1990s, and the multi-time champion from Bowdoin added another 50-lap victory to his collection Saturday night.

John Rideout was second in a field enhanced by Beech Ridge regulars John Peters and Evan Beaulieu. Jeff Burgess took third, followed by Kevin Morse and Peters.

Josh Bailey was best in the 25-lap Super Street scramble. Mark Lucas, who won the Modified feature a week ago, climbed into his full-bodied ride and went home with a second-place trophy. Dan Trask won the battle for third, followed by Jason Curtis and David Doherty.

Kamren Knowles captured another win in the New England 4-Cylinder Pro Stock ranks, defeating Jacob Hendsbee in the sprint to the checkers. Alex Waltz was third, Tyler Bailey fourth and Jeff Prindall of Lisbon fifth.

Leandra Martin was the winner in Thunder 4 Mini competition, with Noah Haggett and Curtis Anderson rounding out the podium positions. Michael Harrison finished fourth, and Mike Golding wound up fifth.
