FARMINGTON — Sebastian Lombardi’s line drive to right-center field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in Amos Herrin as Franklin County walked off with a 4-3 victory over Brunswick,
Herrin also picked up the victory on the mound. He faced one batter in the top of the seventh after coming in relief for starter Evan Roberts. Herrin had a pair of hits along with Jake Davenport, Ryan Pratt and Thomas Wing.
The win improves Franklin County to 7-1.
Brunswick (2-6) catcher Zach Meggison had four hits including a double in the losing effort. John Parker pitched all seven innings.
Rogers Post 9, Highland Green 1
TOPSHAM — A balanced offense worked for Rogers Post 153 in its 9-1 victory over Highland Green in Legion baseball action.
Grant Hartley, Drew Lashua and Jarod Plourde each drove in two runs after Rogers Post did its damage in the middle innings. Hartley had two doubles and scored two runs, while Tyler Blanchard and Austin Cox also came across with two runs. Evan Raymond and Mickey Lawrence each had a double as Rogers Post improves to 4-3.
Plourde started the game and went the first four innings before Damien St. Pierre came on in the fifth and Hartley in the seventh.
Brandan Emmons scored the lone run for Highland Green (3-5).
