LEWISTON – Rescue crews were on Old Greene Road late Friday night after a motorcycle hit a deer, leaving two injured.

Early reports were that a woman was knocked unconscious and a man was left bleeding and dazed in the 11 p.m. crash.

The victims were taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Their conditions were not available.

The collision occurred on a stretch of Old Greene Road between Acorn Lane and Peter Boulevard, roughly a mile from Sabattus Street.

A second motorcyclist stopped at scene, although it was not immediately clear if he had been traveling with the couple who crashed.

The deer was killed in the collision.

Lewiston police were investigating the crash.
