1953 – 2015

LEWISTON — Candice M. McCluskey, 62, of Lewiston, passed away Sunday, June 7, after a long illness.

She was born April 16, 1953, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Ruby (Patterson) Bragdon and Leroy Bragdon Sr. She married Roy (Keith) McCluskey on Dec. 16, 1972.

Candy worked at Miller Industries in her early years. She enjoy panning for gold at Coos Canyon, camping, long rides, knitting, doing volunteer work at Schooner Estates and taking care of her many nieces and nephews. She had a big heart and was always thinking of others. She spent 15 years on kidney dialysis. During much of that time, she would be the Easter Bunny for all her co-patients, and on Halloween, she would bring them treat bags. She enjoyed making others feel special.

She was an animal lover and spoiled all of them.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Keith; sisters, Lois Towle of Lewiston, Louise Pelletier of Biddeford, Ruth Thompson and husband, Michael, of Lisbon, Janice Coburn and partner, Leon Kimball, of Wales, Lisa Proctor and husband, Jerry, of Lisbon, and Cathy Proctor and husband, Mark, of Lisbon; brothers, Leroy Bragdon Jr., of Lewiston, Harold Bragdon and wife, Yvonne, of Oxford, Gerald Bragdon and wife, Selina, of Yarmouth, and Alfred Bragdon and wife, Judy, of Farmington, N.H.; and many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, each one of them having a place in her heart. Also her best friend and caregiver, Judie McCluskey.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Richie Bragdon; and nieces, Sara Bragdon and Janice Pelletier.
