BIDDEFORD — Matthew R. Levasseur, D.O., son of Susan Levasseur and John Levasseur of Lewiston, a member of the graduating class of 2015 at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at commencement ceremonies held at the Merrill Auditorium on Saturday, May 16.

As a U.S. Army Health Professions Scholar, Dr. Levasseur was also promoted to captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He will complete a Family Medicine Residency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas.
