FALMOUTH – A New Gloucester woman escaped without injury Thursday when her car was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 295.

Maine State Police said a Nissan driven by Elizabeth Morgan, 22, was rear-ended by a 2003 Peterbilt driven by Paul Bean, 53, of Levant, while traffic was slowing on the turnpike at about 5:30 p.m.

No one was hurt in the wreck. Traffic was delayed in both directions as police and rescue crews responded.

Police said the tractor-trailer was hauling lumber. No charges are expected.
