PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — S. Wayne Shepard of Punta Gorda, Fla., and East Waterford passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, after a long illness.
He was born in Stonington in 1927 and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He and his wife, Ruby, raised their family in Berlin, N.H. Wayne retired from the Public Service Co. of New Hampshire and was a director for many years for Oxford Networks in Portland. He also was a member of the Gorham-Sabatis Masonic Lodge No. 73.
Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Ruby (Mullen); son, Michael; and his parents, Vera and George Donnelley.
Wayne is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Ronnie) Hawkins of Coventry, Conn., and Center Ossipee, N.H., and Kristine (Charlie) Whittemore of Kennebunkport, and Sebastian, Fla.; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Shepard of Gorham, N.H. Wayne is also survived by six grandchildren, Carrie Truscinski, Melissa Longo, Amy Anger, Kelli Stirling, Patrick Whittemore and Shelli Ladd; and 17 great-grandchildren.
