PORTLAND — A 28-year-old Auburn woman has died in an early-morning car crash in Wells.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Amanda Lavoie was traveling south near the Moody Post Office when her green Honda Accord left the road and struck a tree at 12:51 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Press Herland, Wells Police said rescue workers found Lavoie in her vehicle at scene. She was pronounced dead at York Hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.  No other vehicles are believed to have been involved, according to police.
