FALMOUTH — A New York woman has been charged with engaging in prostitution at a business licensed to provide Korean acupressure therapy.

Hyesun Kim, 48, of Flushing, N.Y., owns Ace Asian Therapy at 367 U.S. Route 1. Falmouth police and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security searched the business on April 2 before issuing a summons to Kim, according to police Lt. John Kilbride.

Kim was not arrested or jailed, and is expected to appear in court May 15.

Kilbride on Thursday said the investigation is continuing and he couldn’t go into much detail. But he did say the department received complaints and began looking into the business approximately seven months ago “because of unusual, male-only traffic.”

“We received complaints from people frequenting other businesses down there and from business owners (nearby),” Kilbride said. He said police also received a complaint from the wife of a man “who indicated a sexual act had been performed on her husband” at Ace Asian Therapy.

Kilbride said the business had been in town just over a year, and its license to operate has been revoked.

So far only Kim has been charged with anything, but Kilbride said investigators are working with other agencies and will “look at the client base, management and owners.” He said he wasn’t sure how long the investigation may take.

“There may be more charges forthcoming,” Kilbride said.
