LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will host a variety of programs this spring.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training: 9 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, April 20 to 22. Cost is $275 for members, $300 for non-members. Participants must be at least 15, able to pass a 300-yard swim and deep water object removal prerequisites. For more information, call 795-4050.
Try-Me Week: All open swim times, water fitness classes and Magic Y-World will be offered at a discounted rate from Monday, April 20, to Saturday, April 26.
American Red Cross Home Pool Safety Class: Homeowners with backyard pools can learn to prevent and respond to emergencies from 1 to 3 p.m. On Saturday, May 2. Cost is by donation.
Paddle Board Stretch and Strength: Instructor Ian Barclay will combine traditional exercises with paddle boarding from 6 to 7 p.m. Fridays, May 8 to June 12.Cost is $45 for members, $60 for non-members.
YWCA American Red Cross Swim Lessons: Three-week mini sessions run May 18 to June 6 for one half-hour lesson twice a week or one hour lesson once a week. Cost is $30. Adult lessons are for one hour lessons, and cost is $40.
Tiger Sharks: The YWCA Summer Tiger Sharks Swim Team, for children ages 6 to 15, will meet May 12 to July 30 and participate in two swim meets. Cost is $165 plus membership for swim meets.
